How to connect to your Mac.

Turn on Remote
Open KeepArc settings on your Mac and turn on Remote. KeepArc creates a share link and QR code on the Mac, then connects to the Remote service.

Open the link on your other device
Open the share link in a browser on your phone, tablet, or another computer. You can also scan the QR code shown in KeepArc.

Verify and approve
Compare the six-digit code, then approve the new browser on the Mac.

Once connected, you can change KeepArc settings and check your Mac's status from the browser.
Browser approval
Approve once or remember the browser.
Approve a browser just this time, or remember it so you do not need to approve it on every visit. KeepArc lists remembered browsers, the website each connects from, and when it was last used. You can remove them at any time.
Optional self-hosting
Use your own Remote server.
KeepArc uses the hosted Remote service by default. If you prefer to run your own compatible Remote server, you can enter its address in KeepArc settings.

Check whether KeepArc is running and turn its automatic cursor movements on or off.

See when KeepArc will stop. Turn auto-stop off, choose a preset, or set your own duration or time of day.
Pause Events
Check your saved pauses, when they run, and which one is active or coming next. Turn each pause on or off.

Lock macOS
Lock your Mac using the macOS lock screen. Give KeepArc Accessibility access on the Mac before using this control.

Turn off your Mac's displays or mute its sound.

Run the Shortcuts you have allowed in KeepArc settings on your Mac.

See the battery level, charging status, processor use, and whether KeepArc is running and connected.

How Remote protects your data.
Commands and status updates are encrypted between your browser and Mac. The Remote service connects the two devices, but cannot read these messages. Only your browser and Mac have the keys needed to read them.

What the service can still see
The service can see connection details such as IP addresses, connection times, connection IDs, and the size of encrypted messages. Encryption protects the contents of the messages, not these connection details.

Is Remote enabled automatically?
No. It stays off until you enable it in KeepArc settings.
Can someone connect using just the link?
No. You must approve each new browser on your Mac. Check that the six-digit code matches on both devices before approving.
Does Remote provide full access to the Mac?
No. You can use the KeepArc and Mac controls listed on this page. You cannot view the screen, browse files, or take over the keyboard and mouse.
Can every Apple Shortcut be run remotely?
No. You choose which Shortcuts are available in KeepArc settings on your Mac.
